Frisbee Dog

I couldn't get my timing right to get a photo of this dog catching the frisbee in mid air but take my word for it, he's great at it!

Handsome boy

Can you tell he knows he's a frisbee pro??

Still hot weather

Proud to be a dog!

Small, bigger and bigger

Testing the waters... is it the right temperature?

Hot, thirsty... need water

Four of these dogs are siblings and belong to one home along with a fifth dog.
All of them are incredibly well mannered.

Finally, much needed garbage cans distributed about - it's about time.

Nice photo of the park - how peaceful...
how clean... and look, more garbage cans!

Trees

A while back, I came across this huge tree that was cut down. A 100lb dog on the tree trunk gives an idea on how huge this tree was.

Came back another time when the tree was cut up smaller and found a grave marker.

This huge tree came down during one of those windy rain storms.

Safety Tip of the Day:
Good idea to NOT be in the park during lightening, wind storms and/or heavy soaking rains.

Smurf Movie

The Smurf Movie was filmed in Prospect Park back in May. The waterfall was landscaped beautifully with flowers (too bad it doesn't always look like that) and there were fake boulders and fake lampposts.

This cutie obviously can't take a bad picture.
The camera couldn't LOVE her more.
The sheepdog looks pretty good too!

Big Fish

A couple days ago, I threw a dog biscuit into Doggie Beach for my dog to fetch. Right before the dog could reach it, there was a huge splash and a fish snatched the biscuit first. Must have been a big fish (carp possibly). I know there's different varieties of fish in the lake. I was glad it didn't eat my dog! Just imagine what can be caught during Macy's annual fishing contest in mid July.

It's cool to see the carp splashing around in the spring spawning their eggs. It sounds like a small/medium dog jumping in & out of the water. The carp are about 16" long. Sometimes they churn the water under the water plants and it looks like the lochness monster emerging.

Prospect Park Birds and Turtles

Who's eggs are these laying around the lake?

Swan family - Look midway under the baby swans...
is that another egg???

Sure could use some snow now...

It's been way too hot so I thought this photos might help (don't I wish).

This snowman had been pretty popular judging from the yellow legs. By the next day, he was completely gone. He
"melted" away???

A big dog snow cave to play in - how neat ...
fun, fun, fun

A little dog cave - this bulldog had a blast running in and out the front and back doors!

Aren't I handsome in my red booties?

Opening day at Doggie Beach

Are these signs reducing the amount charcoal fires by the trees? We can only hope.

Fishing Line Disposal Bins donated by FIDO -
Ever since I saw a bird hanging from a tree caught up in fishing line, I've continuously picked up ALL fishing line that I find during my daily walks. Since I try to recycle as much as possible, I'm glad there's a use for that line. My father was an avid fisherman who fished everywhere including Prospect Park and he NEVER left line or hooks/lures lying around like I often come across in Prospect Park. It's dangerous for wildlife, dogs and children/people.

Has the Mayor been here?
